Currently Asher offers two (2) types of Medication Aide programs: 32 hours course; 68 hours course
32 hours course: (approved by State for GI Bill Benefits)
Using the curriculum approved by the Virginia Geriatric Education Center (VGEC) and Virginia Board of Nursing, this 32 hours Medication Management Training Program will prepare qualified employees to assist with self-administration of medications in group homes for youth/teens, and adult homes/day centers (ADCC) licensed by the Commonwealth of Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Licensing Program. Under the Drug Control Act of Virginia, Medication Aides are required to be trained in curriculum approved by the Virginia Board of Nursing before they may provide medication management services.WHO SHOULD ATTEND? Administrators, nurses aides and all direct care staff responsible for assisting residents with self-administration of medications in facilities licensed by the Virginia Department of Social Services Division of Licensed Programs.
